Goals:
- To conduct a survey of the territory's existing administrative infrastructure, socio-cultural composition and position in the international community.
- To make an academic and scientific contribution to the reconstruction of the territory's administration by training interns in techniques for surveying public administration needs in the field (applicable to Portugal) and also have the opportunity to see some, if not all recommendations implemented in the field.
- To contribute to the advancement of political science in practical application of training to a new state.
- To foster the specialisation of Portuguese academics in this area, in order to take advantage of and increase the scientific assets accumulated during Portugal's long presence in Timor.
Project results:
Publication of the final report, entitled “Timor-Leste em Mudança: Ensaios sobre Administração Pública e Local”.
